Time to get on top of weeds in cereals

With winter fast drawing to a close and the weather at last getting better now is the time to make sure you are top of weed control in your cereal crops.

Weeds very effectively compete for water, nutrients and light. At this time of year it doesn’t take long for weeds to have a significant direct impact on yield.

Something which is often over looked though is that weeds can lead to increased disease infection by maintaining a humid environment in the crop base. And then at harvest there is the problem of delayed ripening, a slow harvest and grain contamination to contend with.

So no excuses, now is the time to apply Othello OD, Puma S and Hussar.

In wheat crops apply Othello OD for grassweed and broad leaved weed control. Othello OD provides very effective control annual poa and ryegrass along with a long list of important weeds such as field pansy. If wild oats are a problem then applying Puma S will provide effective control.

For barley Hussar is the product of choice. Controlling a wide range of broad leaved weeds, Hussar ensures you get your crops on the right path to deliver their full yield potential.
