Marc Fox, Territory Sales Manager, Gisborne, Hawkes Bay, Nelson, Marlborough

Grapes and apples are two of the key crops for Marc Fox in his extensive region that stretches across both Islands.

His catchment comprises 95% of New Zealand’s apple and grape volumes, which are also two of the fastest growing, most successful crop types in the country.

Much of Marc’s time is spent working closely with horticultural merchants in the regions, ensuring their understanding and applications of Bayer products are helping growers get the highest quality, lowest residual crops possible.

Cereals and fodder beet fill out Marc’s crop portfolio, and he is helping increasing numbers of farmers establish fodder beet, with beef fattening becoming an increasingly popular use for the crop.

In addition to 10 years with Bayer, Marc has had experience working as a technical field rep and has spent time both farming and orcharding. Both mean he has a good appreciation of the seasonal and pest challenges farmers face.

He enjoys the technical challenges the variety of crops in his area bring, and also looks forward to future advances in Bayer crop protection technology including the use of biologic controls on problem diseases like botrytis in grapes.
