Fodder Beet

Fodder beet is a popular crop in New Zealand. Fodder beet produces high yielding crops that provide a highly palatable, energy rich food source for stock. A critical component to growing a high yielding fodder beet crop is crop establishment. Fodder beet is a slow to establish crop and is very susceptible to attack by insect pests and weed competition, especially in the first 8 weeks. Bayer has SIVANTO prime, a very effective insecticide to control the key establishment pests and a number of herbicides that can be used to control weeds at crop establishment. These include Nortron, Betanal quattro and Betanal Forte. Bayer also produces the popular beet fungicide Escolta.
