Phil Bertram, Territory Sales Manager, Upper North Island

Based in Hamilton, Bayer’s Upper North Island territory manager Phil Bertram is finding a greater portion of his time lately is spent helping seed companies and contractors ensure farmers get the most out of fodder beet crops.

While far from his sole focus, the surge in interest in the supplement has seen Phil play a critical part in helping educate and advise on a crop that requires some time and care to establish successfully. The high yield and high energy value of fodder beet makes it one worth investing in with good advice and quality crop treatments.

Phil’s role also has him working closely with vegetable and kiwifruit growers through the region that extends south to Taupo and up to Northland.

With 22 years spent with Bayer and a Bachelor of Agriculture from Massey, he has a sound understanding of the company’s many crop protection products, and the best applications for them to work successfully in speciality high value crops.

Phil appreciates how his role is more closely aligned to that of a valued advisor than a salesman and he enjoys the technical challenge of ensuring growers and farmers get the absolute best quality and production from their crops.
